about

Richard Woolley is a writer, musician, academic and former film director. In the late sixties, he played in a rock band called The Voodoo Strutters; in the mid-seventies, he worked as a musician and performer in Red Ladder Theatre; and in the eighties, he wrote and directed a number of films for cinema and television. These included: Telling Tales (1980), Brothers and Sisters (1981) and Girl from the South (1988). Over the last two decades, alongside his academic work, he has concentrated on screenwriting and has also written three novels: Back in 1984, Sad-eyed Lady of the Lowlands and Friends and Enemies. He has lived in Berlin, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and New Zealand, as well as in his country of origin, England. He has one son and currently works as a university professor.

But only in the 70s, was music his profession, since then he's made films and written books - worth checking out too. ... more
